Reading Derby Girls extended full membership in the WFTDA

Reading Derby Girls Accepted as Women’s Flat Track Derby Member

Reading, Pennsylvania – The Reading Derby Girls (RDG) are proud to announce today that the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) has extended full membership to the league after being an apprentice league for 18 months.

“The Reading Derby Girls are delighted to be a member of the WFTDA and strive to be a competitive league that provides a space for skaters to become strong, athletic, and be a part of a growing community.”

On July 12, 2017 the WFTDA announced that with these most recent graduates, the WFTDA’s member league total has surpassed the 400 mark. “We’re proud of how much we have grown as an organization since beginning with just a handful of leagues in 2005 and are looking forward to the continued development of the sport and the WFTDA community.”

The new Class C members can now enjoy the benefits of full WFTDA membership, including competing in sanctioned games and becoming eligible for rankings. This group of new members includes leagues from the United States, Europe, and New Zealand.

The WFTDA now has 405 member leagues and 41 apprentice leagues. Congratulations to:

The Reading Derby Girls return from the summer break to compete against State College Area Roller Derby’s Plan B on Sunday, September 10 at 7:00pm at Skateaway in Shillington, Pennsylvania. For more information visit them on Facebook.

About the WFTDA
The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association is the governing body for women’s flat-track roller derby, and a membership organization for the leagues to collaborate and network. The organization created and maintained the first standardized ruleset for the flat-track game, now in its fourth edition.
