Reading Derby Girls revamps recruitment program and announces new practice schedule

November 25, 2019

Reading, Pennsylvania – The Reading Derby Girls (RDG) are excited to announce that they have a new recruitment program starting in 2020. The boot-camp style program includes four weeks of on-skates training with experienced team skaters and trainers leading the way. Previously, they had a rolling recruitment option with a year-round program on every Wednesday. The new concentrated program provides more practice times and shorter graduation times to becoming a team member with the hopes to increase their membership and grow the league. Early-bird registration begins on Black Friday, November 29, the cost increases after January 1. The boot camp begins January 7 and runs through January 31 with practices occurring on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday nights. Women 18 & over are encouraged to register prior to January 1 at http://universe.com/RdgDerbyGirls or to visit the Reading Derby Girls Facebook page for more information. Ditch the gym. Join a team!

Skaters looking to transfer are also welcome at their 2020 recruitment program and can email readingderbygirls@gmail.com for details.

Reading Derby Girls have also announced a new practice schedule which now include Tuesday & Wednesday nights from 8:30p-10:30p and the occasional Friday from 10:00p-12:00a. This new practice schedule at Skateaway allows for more convenient practice times and an improved training schedule.
